With the support program to be carried out within the scope of the project, it is aimed to increase the efficiency of enterprises operating in dairy cattle breeding in Burdur. In this process, with improved animal welfare practices; it will contribute to the realization of sustainability goals by ensuring economic efficiency as a result of increased productivity and consequently reduced losses.

This process will be carried out in cooperation with Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and MAKÜ. Within the scope of the "Dairy Cattle Enterprises Certification Program" prepared by our center based on the Ministry's animal welfare legislation, evaluations will be made for enterprises and deficiencies in herd health, shelter, and hygiene will be eliminated. In the evaluations made in dairy cattle enterprises, enterprises will be classified by certifying them in three categories as "A Class Enterprise Certificate", "B Class Enterprise Certificate" and "C Class Enterprise Certificate" according to the degree of compliance with the criteria. Enterprises that do not qualify for a certificate in any enterprise class will be defined as "Candidate Enterprise" and these enterprises will be included in a special program. During enterprise visits, experts will provide training on the importance of animal welfare and share information about the deficiencies of the enterprise with milk producers.

Within the scope of the project, a recommendation and follow-up system will be developed to complete the deficiencies identified in the enterprises. At this point, our university will increase the effectiveness of the Ministry's policies and grant program by developing a recommendation system for the deficiencies in an enterprise that need to be prioritized rather than the voluntary requests of the breeders. Breeders included in the certification program will be given a grant of up to 80%.

Enterprises operating in the field of dairy cattle breeding that want to participate in this process will apply to the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry during the call period. At the end of the application, the breeder lists will be forwarded to Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and the inspection process will be planned. After the enterprise inspections, a report will be prepared on the deficiencies and submitted to the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. The grant support process for eliminating the identified infrastructural deficiencies will be initiated.
